Zvezda Military 1/72 German 75mm Infantry Gun w/2 Crew (Snap Kit)
The 7,5 cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 (or 7.5 cm le.IG 18) was developed by Rheinmetall in the 1920s to provide close artillery support for infantry units. This effective and reliable short-barreled gun would remain in production from 1932 until the end of the war, with over 12,000 units made. This gun was normally served by a five-man crew.
The le.IG 18 featured a “split-trail” carriage that could be used to tow the gun, then broken into two rails to proved a more stable firing platform. It also had an armored shield to protect the crew when the weapon was deployed. It fired a shell weighing 6 kilograms at a rate up to 12 rounds per minute and a maximum range of more than 3500 meters.
