Zvezda Military 1/72 Soviet Recon Team 1941-43 (4) Snap Kit
Scouts have been a part of nearly every army since the dawn of warfare. And the Soviet army in World War II was no different. Small, specially trained and equipped teams of men would infiltrate behind the enemy lines to locate enemy units, intercept enemy communications, sabotage vulnerable sites, and conduct guerrilla operations when the opportunity presented itself.
Under the Geneva and Hague Conventions, recon teams are not considered spies, as long as they are in uniform. But since the survival of these small teams was dependent upon avoiding contact with the enemy, they were often equipped with special camouflage uniforms, different from those worn by regular troops.
