Zvezda Military 1/72 German Infantry 1939-42 (10) Snap Kit
During the early years of World War II, the German military shocked with world with its efficiency and the quality of its soldiers. This was the army that would roll over France, the Balkans, and would eventually push deep into Russia.
Much of the organization of the German army was altered following the invasion of Poland. Prior to the invasion, rifle companies were divided into 13-man squads, but these squads were too cumbersome in combat. Using the lessons learned in Poland, a new organization was developed, with a smaller 9-man squad divided into a machine gun team and a rifle team.
The two rifle teams included in this kit are armed with the reliable Mauser bolt-action rifle, a modified version of the rifle used by German soldiers in World War I.
