Hasegawa Aircraft 1/72 Mitsubishi G4M1 Type 1 Model 11 Green Cross IJN Attacker Bomber Ltd. Edition Kit
Demilitarized for Delegations
After Japan's surrender to the U.S. in August 1945, two G4M1s were demilitarized to carry eight of the country's emissaries to the official ceremony in Lejima. P-38 Lightnings and B-25 Mitchells served as their escorts. The Imperial Japanese flags that originally adorned G4M1s were replaced by green crosses as a way for the U.S. to determine that the delegates were, in fact, on board.
