Dragon Model Ships 1/350 Kee Lung Class Destroyer (New Tool) Kit
Dragon has a new limited-edition ship available in its 1/350 scale range, a model of a Kee Lung-class destroyer of the ROC Navy (ROCN). Taiwan confirmed its intention to buy four of these destroyers in 2001. They are actually the decommissioned US Navy Kidd-class destroyers, with the ships arriving in Taiwan between 2005 and 2006. The first was christened ROCS Kee Lung, while the others are named ROCS Su Ao, ROCS Tso Ying and ROCS Ma Kong. Based at Tsoying, all four 7,062-ton destroyers remain in ROCN service as the Navy's largest combatants.
This 1/350 scale kit will obviously be of huge interest to model fans in Taiwan, but of course, the ships have wider interest too. This new kit can be assembled as a full-hull or waterline-hull kit beautifully created by slide mold. The kit is produced to the highest levels of engineering excellence, and a comprehensive selection of photo-etched parts adds extra refinement. This is likely to be a one-off production, so modelers in Taiwan and elsewhere will need to make sure they grab this release quick before it disappears!
