Italeri Aircraft 1/48 A1-H Skyraider Fighter/Bomber Kit
The Douglas Skyraider was built immediately after the Second World War. Despite its traditional piston engine, born when the first jets were already widespread, the Skyraider has had an extraordinary operational longevity. The first flight was made in 1945 and was withdrawn from active service only in 1975. It has participated in numerous conflicts proving its validity in Korea and Vietnam. Characterized by great maneuverability at low speed, it was capable of carrying an impressive war load exceeding 3,500 kg. Optimized for ground attack missions it was equipped with robust armor to minimize damage from enemy fire from the ground. The Skyrider A-1H, thanks to its powerful 2,700 HP radial engine, could fly at 322 mph and carry a wide variety of armament.
