Erwin Rommel's mammoth AEC Armored Command Vehicle. Germany's Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) captured several British-built armored command vehicles (ACVs) during fighting around the Libyan village of al-Makhili ("Mechili") in April 1941, and two of the massive bus-sized vehicles were adapted for use by the legendary DAK commander Erwin Rommel and nicknamed Max and Moritz for mischievous boys from German literature.
